| Never-Fail Chocolate Cake |
half cup oatmeal half cup butter 2 eggs 1 cup flour 1tsp baking soda |
1 cup boiling water 5 heaping tbsp cocoa 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 tsp baking powder 2 tsp vanilla |

Directions 1. Combine oatmeal and boiling water. Add one at a time in a mixer: butter, cocoa, eggs, and brown sugar. Mix well. 2. Add flour, baking powder, and baking soda. 3. Add vanilla. 4. Bake in 8x8 pan at 350°F for 45 minutes.
Options: 1. Recipe can be doubled or tripled; pick out whatever pan you want. 2. Add chocolate chips or chopped walnuts or pecans. 3. Dust with confectioner’s sugar and serve with ice cream. |
